The annual Kids’ Fishing Derby is sponsored by Anchor Boat Club for member’s children and grandchildren.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 17th. Start time is 8:00am and continues until 11:00am…at which time Hot Dogs, Chips, and a Soda will be served for lunch. Immediately following lunch, the prize giveaways will be presented.

This event is open to all youngsters age 15 and under. There is a limit of one fishing pole per child. Participants can bring their own bait or worms will be provided. Each child must provide his or her own fishing pole and tackle. Small children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children may be assisted by an adult, however, children should do their own fishing as much as possible. This event is not for adults.

Children will compete for prizes for the biggest fish (caught in inches). Children not finishing in the top 2 spots of their age group will receive a gift of their choosing from a prize table via a drawing.

This event is being conducted during Illinois free fishing days but all state and lake fishing regulations must be followed.
